Costume List

A basic list of what I will require my actors to wear.

A screen grab of the messages I sent to my actors letting them know about the costume requirements for the different scenes. I wanted to send them as text messages so that when it comes to filming I can tell them what scenes we're shooting on that day and they can refer back to their text message. Since sending the texts I have had a full confirmation that they both have everything required.

Bellow is a PowerPoint presentation on why I chose the different types of clothes I've required for my characters.

ACTORS

I currently still have no female actress, I have the feeling that I am going to have to star in it myself as well as the other filming jobs. Today I am going to my male actor's house to have a look at his childhood photos and select one or two for me to take home and use Photoshop to combine it with the other actors childhood photos.

Rules 1 and 2

For rules 1 and two I will be using photographs to show the rules, I’ve chosen to do this to try and get across to the viewer that the two characters have known each other since they were very young. To get the continuity to flow I’m going to be photo manipulating images of my two actors together to show them in the same location. To do this I will use Photoshop, I have limited knowledge on how to use it but will be teaching myself how to via YouTube and hopefully the images will come out nicely.


I went to Will's house and went through his baby photos. I selected 4 photos that I thought would be appropriate but also easy enough to manipulate. 

Casting

Currently I am struggling to find a female actress to play Sophie.

Change of mind

I have already chosen my soundtrack and have been given permission to use it but as the idea for my trailer has changed slightly I think I'm going to have to change it. In this post I'm going to look at some trailers that I think are similar to my idea and see what songs they use, if any and from there go onto creative commons to find something similar to them.


The genre of the already chosen song is pop, I no longer think that the track would suit my trailer as I've slightly changed the storyline. (only the trailers storyline)

These are all songs that are slightly indie and upbeat and I think for my trailer I will now try and find a similar song/s to fit with it.

Though process

Thought process of trailer framework.

Plot: Throughout their whole lives Sophie and Ben have been best friends, living in the same close nit village, at the same school, same friends, same everything. They both love each other in more than just a platonic way but are both too nervous to say anything. They go through their lives dating other people; falling out with one another; fighting and rekindling their friendship. Sophie becomes highly successful, however, due to unforeseen circumstances Ben's life goes in a slightly different direction.

To do list:

Photos need to be a mix of inside/outside locations. Preferably a mix of photos alone, proud moments, with family, embarrassing moments.

To help me come up with some ideas that will link with my trailer it seemed to be a good idea to come up with my own rules and regulations of friendship which I can base the structure of my trailer around.

10 rules of friendship:

1)      Avoid close friendships with the opposite gender

2)      Never ever eat your friends yogurt

3)      Sharing is caring except when it’s (insert toy name)

4)      Always be honest, even if its brutal

5)      Make sure they’re your crazy partner in crime

6)      Know how to make each other smile and don’t mind being judged in the process

7)      Take the fall for one another / blame one another

8)      Share clothes

9)       Bodily functions are allowed and laughable

10)   Don’t fall in love with your best friend

I've contacted Hannah and Will about sending me pictures with a list of the type of photos I'd need and they're yet to get back to me but once I have copies of them I will do a post about them.

The email I sent to Will trying to explain my ideas. In the end he didn't understand what I was on about so we met up in person for me to explain it properly.

Final Script

SCRIPT: 

For the narrative in my trailer I want to keep it mainly voice overs and then within each scene there will be a bit of dialogue if the scene is a moving image. If it's a photograph I will just be using the voice overs for that scene.

Scene 1:

Sophie: rule one
Hannah: avoid close friendships with the opposite sex


Scene 2:
Ben: Rule two
Sophie: Sharing is caring except when it's (insert toy name)
Sophie: Ben this still isn't funny give him back!


Scene 3:
Sophie:Rule three
Ben: Always be honest, even if its brutal
Ben: Honestly (2) Soph you look like a tart
Sophie: (gasps)

Scene 4:
Ben: Rule four
 Sophie: Make sure they're your crazy partner in crime
(door opens)
Sophie: we're here!
Extra: You cant come in dressed like that, who'd you think you guys are
Pause
Ben: we're...we're the coolest partners out there!
